Rev. Roy T. Sellick was ordained in 1944. He had been a fisherman before going into the ministry. Roy was the son of David T. and Margaret (Wright) Sellick of Greenmount, PEL His first wife was Eliza Jeffery, who died in 1939. His second wife was Opal Moore of Rimbey, Alberta.
One of Rev, Sellick’s favourite sayings was: “You can’t stop the birds from flying over your head, but you can stop them from building a nest in your hair”.
During Rev. Sellick’s pastorate in Elmsdale the first church was sold. A new Church of the Nazarene was built using discarded materials from the former Mt. Pleasant Airport, which was being demolished at that time. The Alberton Church of the Nazarene was also sold at this time. (See post of June 18, 2017)
Rev. Sellick passed away while living in Calgary on November 15,1985 at the age of 76 years.
