Praying the Spirit’s Blessing to Pentecost: Day 27

Friday, April 26, 2024 – Day 27

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. Philippians 2:3-4

Scripture Insights

Who comes to mind when you think about someone in your life who consistently puts the interests of others before their own? I imagine the person you are thinking about has both inspired and encouraged you along your journey through life and that God has used them to extend compassion and love to countless others along the way. The impact we can have on others when we put this principle into practice in our lives truly is profound!

The challenge we all must accept is that, rather than be consumed by our own selfishness and pride, we are called to look out for the needs of others. If we are willing to intentionally put this attitude of humility and compassion into practice in our daily lives, we will be able to fully step into our purpose and truly be a blessing to our communities.

We have an opportunity to make a profound impact in the lives of those around us. What will come to mind when others think about you?

Today’s Prayer

God, we thank you for the compassion and love you have for us. Open our eyes to the needs of others and help us be a blessing to our communities today.

What is the Spirit saying to you today?
